NEW YORK - June 22, 2015 - PRLog -- New York --Watch out Michael Crichton and James Patterson fans -- a new kid on the high-tech thriller block, Ian McBride, swoops in with a killer debut novel "Betrayal by Blood and Demons: The Judas Factor".

Drawing from his own colorful background including a gang member in his teens to a World Trade Center survivor, McBride draws readers immediately into the roller coaster ride of "Betrayal by Blood and Demons: The Judas Factor".

Protagonist Shane Connelly is a self-made millionaire whose own troubled son and wife accuse him of the unconscionable -- being a sexual predator.

But all is not lost for Connelly who hires a salty P.I. and a heralded defense attorney to help him prove his innocence. Complicating matters he meets and falls in love with a beautiful mystery woman, Lia Harrison, only to have her disappear when the Twin Towers are struck by terrorists on Sept. 11, 2001. Never before has this father of three had to face such mind-blowing chaos in his life but he knows he has to do everything in his power to overcome his obstacles. It’s time to summon his survival skills and save not only himself, but his newly-formed company and his vulnerable eleven-year-old daughter. Luckily, he doesn’t have to do it alone thanks to the help of some unforgettable allies including a tough-as-nails detective, a violent convicted felon, and a towering hulk of a lawyer. Connelly and his team begin to explore and unravel this horrendous crime that his own family has accused him of committing. In his first-time thriller, McBride crafts a riveting good versus evil story as Shane Connelly races against the clock to solve the ultimate betrayal.

“Besides dividing his narrative into three parts with distinctly Christian overtone titles, McBride uses another plot-moving element by alternating scenes within Shane’s life. Ultimately, the combination of all his literary tools are used to create suspense and various twists and turns while building up to Shane’s trial,” says Pacific Book Reviewer Anita Lock.

Says the author of "Betrayal by Blood and Demons: The Judas Factor", who had planned to have breakfast in one of the WTC towers the morning of the attacks: “I was raised in the Christian faith as a Catholic. The themes of good versus evil are rooted in the bible dating to the Garden of Eden with Cain and Abel. The betrayal of Christ by Judas Iscariot represents perhaps the most despicable act of treachery in recorded history. Christ’s redemptive story and Shane Connelly’s lesser but impactful redemptive arc from gang roots, to success, to betrayal, to rising above the betrayal to save his innocent daughter and claiming love are powerful story elements that have Christian underpinnings.”

Reviewer Lock says bottom-line:  "Betrayal by Blood and Demons: The Judas Factor" is riveting from end-to-end. “Many kudos to McBride for producing a great debut thriller!”

McBride is working on a few other projects including more op-ed articles dealing with the after effects of 9/11 dust exposure and the need to reauthorize the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010. Sadly, this act expires in 2016 as will its benefits. McBride says he is a strong advocate for continuing to provide health care and financial assistance to those who became ill from exposure to the toxic dust and ashes after the terrorist attack. Additionally, he is working on other personal essays, a spiritually-themed novel about a guardian angel and a memoir.
