2015 Roll Call Award Winners Announced for the Maryland Military & Veteran Women Business Conference

June 17, 2015 - PRLog -- The 2nd annual Maryland Military & Veteran Women Business Conference 2015 Roll Call Awards have been announced. The awards recognize businesses, government agencies, corporations, organizations and/or individuals who have made significant contributions to enhance the quality of life and grow entrepreneurship for veterans, active duty military and their families. Each winner will be presented at the annual conference on June 18, 2014 at Morgan State University. The winners for each category are:

JoAnn Fischer is the winner of the Hero Award. Ms. Fischer is presently the CEO and founder of the Women Veterans United Committee, Inc. (WVUCI) She has served as Chair of the Women Veterans Committee at State level with the Disabled American Veterans service organization in Washington, DC and Maryland and is known widely for her work with women veterans. Her goal is to reach out to more women veterans and getting them to join veteran service organizations in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.
Hero Award – Salutes a veteran, business and/or organization that demonstrate extraordinary commitment and service to veterans that makes a significant, life-changing impact on the community.

Annie Brock is the winner of the Woman Veteran of the Year Award. Ms. Brock is the owner of Annie Brock & Co. where works with organizations to develop more and better leaders with customized training to establish effective team communication and structure, equipping teams with the proper attitudes to develop leaders, and in the areas of process and efficiency performance. She is a former US Army Aeromedical Evacuation Helicopter Pilot who flew UH-1V and UH-60A helicopters for aeromedical evacuation and training missions. Ms. Brock is one of the first 100 women assigned to the 82d Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC.
Woman Veteran of the Year Award – recognizes a woman, veteran business owner who has demonstrated exemplary military service, community service and support for veterans in the community.

PNC Bank is the winner of the Organization Supporting Women Veteran Entrepreneurs Award. PNC offers products, services, knowledge and resources necessary for financial success. They also offer a wide range of services for all customers, from individuals and small businesses, to corporations and government entities. PNC is committed to the communities in which they live and work is expressed through their corporate initiatives. PNC is an industry leader in many other target markets.
Organization Supporting Women Veteran Entrepreneurs Award – recognizes government agencies, non-profits, academic institutions and private industry for expanding opportunities to woman, veteran-owned businesses that go above and beyond the standard.

The 2nd annual Maryland Military and Veteran Women Business Conferencewill take place on Thursday, June 18th, 2015 from 8AM to 3PM at Morgan State University in the University Student Center. The conference is designed to ignite entrepreneurial synergy by bringing together military personnel, business owners, emerging entrepreneurs, organizations, government agencies and the private sector representatives to share best practices and provide resources on how to successfully collaborate in business.
