PRLog -- After facing a terrible loss, the Jones/Gartsu family is excited to win a free week Condo Getaway in Ashland, NH. In March of this year, the family’s triple-decker home went up in flames. All the families living in the house made it out safely, but the effects of the loss are still present for the children, who lost their home and all their belongings in the fire.
Every year the Kids Klub program holds an essay writing contest, prompting the students to explain why they feel their family should win the free vacation to New Hampshire. Many essays were submitted, but the essay submitted by Troy and KyLyn Jones was the unanimous winner. In his submission, 2
nd grader Troy wrote
“My family should have a vacation, because we had a fire, and we need a break of the bad thoughts.” Kindergarten student KyLyn drew a picture of the fire as part of her submission. Troy and KyLyn attend the McGuire Elementary School Kids Klub program in North Providence.
For over ten years, as part of the Kids Klub program, Dr. Mary Ann Shallcross Smith and her husband Ron have held this contest and graciously donate a free, one-week stay at their Cold Spring Resort condominium in Ashland, New Hampshire. “We want families to have an opportunity to enjoy spending time together in a relaxed atmosphere, just like we’ve been able to do over the years,” explained Dr. Shallcross Smith. “We were really impressed by this year’s essays, but our staff really felt that Troy and KyLyn deserved this vacation.” In addition to the free week stay, Kids Klub donated a $100 gift card to help provide the family with a stress-free vacation.
