Order, Chaos and Everything in Between from Ryan J Carey at the monOrchid

PHOENIX - June 16, 2015 - PRLog -- Shade Projects is proud to present, the solo exhibition of emerging young artist Ryan J. Carey in Shade Gallery at the monOrchid. This exhibition showcases the artist’s latest series of breathtaking oil paintings which he says are “a return to the human element in art, utilizing only his breath and thinned oil paint to compose the  work”.

Shade Projects Curator, Nicole Royse says this talented young artist skillfully handles oil paint, presents a complex color palette while creating an engaging composition with engrossing texture. Carey’s works are mesmerizing and  ethereal created through a deep connection to his work, a process the artist says “Focuses on using a stream of consciousness composition I amalgamate the colors into a literal representation of my breath.”

Carey received his Bachelors of Arts in Painting from CSU Sonoma State. This is Carey’s debut exhibition at the monOrchid and it marks his first large scale solo gallery exhibition. He has previously exhibited work in several  group exhibitions including Artlink Juried Exhibition, Sunday @ Shemer, Arizona Opera, The Nash, Bianca Lauren Gallery  and most recently at the Saguaro Library.

The Opening Reception will be held on First Friday, July 3rd from 6-10pm with the artist in attendance. The Closing Reception will be held Third Friday, July 17th from 6-10pm featuring an intimate evening with the artist, amazing artwork, wine and more. will be on display in Shade Gallery at the monOrchid from July 3 until July 31, 2015.

The monOrchid is located at 214 E. Roosevelt Street in the heart of Phoenix's downtown Roosevelt Row Arts District. The building is open daily and the exhibition may be viewed during business hours.
