International Women's Initiative Re-Launches Website

Includes original news stories relating to women's rights worldwide

LONDON - June 15, 2015 - PRLog -- London – 15/06/2015 –  On May 31st 2015, International Women's Initiative launched its new look website. This re-launch included the introduction of a news page, where staff writers are creating original news content, investigative pieces, and comment articles relating to women's rights, and violation thereof, worldwide.

So far content has ranged from calling for inclusivity in the distribution of aid in the aftermath of the Nepal earthquake, to commentary on the recent law passed in Nigeria to make FGM illegal. Other titles include:

·         Afghanistan needs to do 'much more' for women's rights - the case of Furkhanda

·         Indonesia- stop the virginity tests now

·         Abortion rights for women rescued from Boko Haram

·         The bicycle - a tool for women's liberation?

We are aiming to update the news page daily, keeping up with current events relating to women's rights and adding a gendered perspective on those that might be thought not to affect women in the mainstream media.

The staff writers have interests in, and expert knowledge on, issues ranging from women's rights in Iran and Turkey to the relationship between economics and women's freedom.
