L.A. Wolves FC Score 2-0 Win over Buena Park F.C

June 14, 2015 - DOWNEY, Calif. -- June 14, 2015 – The L.A. Wolves FC (5-0-0) had a comfortable 2-0 victory over the Buena Park F.C (1-2-1)  afternoon at Warren High School Stadium in Downey, Ca. in a UPSL (www.upslsoccer.com)  Western Conference league match. This win solidifies the L.A. Wolves place with a perfect regular season record of five wins in the Western Conference and eight wins in all competitions

The L.A. Wolves line up was changed with substitute goalkeeper Nick Tasich in between the sticks replacing injured goalkeeper Kifi Cabrera and Jair Celestino getting his first start in the midflied took some time to get into gear with patient build up play by from the defence with centre backs Stephen Dowling and Shannon Murphy  rarely challenged by the Buena Park forward line.  Just before the break in the 44^th minute of play central midfielder Jose Rivera gave the Wolves the advantage

After the halftime team-talk by Head Coach Costa Skouras the team reverted back to their possession style of play which the L.A. Wolves are known for led to the team playing with much more swagger as Sam Higgins and Damir Baimegambetov had a plethora of opportunities to put the game to bed, with the former using a great piece of skill to evade two defenders, one-on-one with the goalie and unfortunately failing to execute the finish. However the Wolves domination was not to be in vain as first team debutant Jair Celestino tucked in a neat finish from full back Andrew Johnson’s cross in the 70^th minute

Costa Skouras Head Coach of the L.A. Wolves FC said. “This was a good performance away from home. The possession play  in the second half really shut down the spirit and energy of Buena Park F.C. Once the team gets its rhythm and we changed the formation in the second half with two strikers I felt (Buena Park) couldn’t contain us. We controlled the game from the defence all the way to the forward line. I’m very satisfied with our comprehensive win. We must maintain this level of performance into next weeks fixture versus Long Beach.”
