Wndy City Gay Chorus and Windy City Treble Quire present "When You Believe" Pride Concert

From the days of the Stonewall riots up to the present fight for marriage equality, the LGBTQ movement has been propelled by dreams of a brighter future. When You Believe takes a musical look at some of the landmark dreams we still want to achieve. Highlights include a song by Sondheim, a thrilling piece about Harvey Milk, and a most delightful arrangement of Over the Rainbow.

When You Believe will also feature a collaboration with The Youth Empowerment Performance Project. YEPP is a company for and of LGBTQ youth who are experiencing homelessness. Using pyschotherapy to explore their personal journeys and struggles, they create performance art (drama and dance) to stimulate emotional healing. YEPP's Co-Founder and Artistic Director, Bonsai Bermúdez, is a choreographer-turned-therapist whose vision for the group is to end LGBTQ youth homelessness through intensive resource advocacy and social change work. YEPP travels around the country performing, facilitating workshops and panels, leading talkbacks, and participating in dialogues with community members, youth workers, and stakeholders. YEPP has produced multiple original works and has performed for schools and communities across the country including Cyndi Lauper and her True Colors Fund in New York City.
