LOS ANGELES - June 15, 2015 - PRLog -- Arts Consulting Group, Inc. (ACG), the leading provider of hands-on management consulting services to the arts and culture industry, today announced the appointment of Nicki Genovese as associate vice president. Based in the firm’s Los Angeles office, Genovese will focus on supporting arts and culture organizations in executive search, professional interim management, program planning and Broadway transfers, strategic visioning, and organizational advancement.

Genovese joins ACG following a successful five-year tenure leading the combined MBA|MFA Theatre Management program at California State University, Long Beach. An experienced executive who has managed operations of award-winning nonprofit and for-profit companies, Genovese’s 25-year career in arts management includes serving as general manager at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, California; general manager of The Public Theater in New York; and managing director of New York Stage and Film.

As an independent general manager, Genovese brought to Los Angeles stages three world premieres, including “Let There Be Light” and “The Freedom Machine,” as well as two West Coast premieres. In addition, she led three fundraising galas for two nonprofit organizations — their most successful to date, exceeding projections by 100 percent. In New York, as general manager at the Public Theater, Genovese facilitated the Broadway transfers of “Passing Strange” and “Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson” and the 2009 Broadway revival of “Hair.” In addition, she was the assistant company manager on the Broadway musical “The Red Shoes.”

In making the announcement, ACG President Bruce D. Thibodeau said, “The appointment of Nicki Genovese as associate vice president recognizes ACG’s increased focus on delivering meaningful solutions that address the needs of arts and culture organizations. Nicki knows how to help organizations achieve their goals and has a proven track record of leadership in both the performing and arts education sectors with hands-on experience as a leader in several key markets. She is an important addition to the ACG team as the firm expands throughout North America.”

“It is an honor to be part of the ACG team as it continues to deepen its impact on the arts and industry through creative and engaging leadership,” said Genovese. “I look forward to contributing my expertise as a professional arts administrator and educator to a diverse and growing firm.”

Earlier in her career, as production associate at Radio City Music Hall, Genovese spent weeks in South Dakota, creating the golden anniversary production at Mount Rushmore. In addition, she served as interim managing director at Puerto Rican Travelling Theatre in New York and at the American Stage Company in Fairfield, New Jersey. She has served as theatre peer panelist for the New Jersey State Council on the Arts; board member for the Off-Broadway League; as a panelist for the Armenian Theatre Professionals project; and negotiating committee member for the Off-Broadway League with Actors’ Equity Association and the League of Resident Theatres with United Scenic Artists.

Genovese produced the documentary short film for the 50th Anniversary of the Stage Directors & Choreographers Society and has guest lectured at Columbia University, DePaul University, Southern Utah State University and DeSales University.
