Artist Statement by PATRICIA NEWTON:

"The Central Coast is full of amazing color and beauty!  From the Golden hillsides to the rugged Coastline, there is an endless supply of subjects to fill the heart of an artist! I count myself very lucky to be able to live here and have been painting with oil on canvas for over 30 years.  I’m always intrigued by the essence of light, the luminosity of color and potential for creativity!  By utilizing a glazing technique, I apply several thin layers of paint to create a translucent effect that provides depth and emanates light from my paintings.  This year I have concentrated my efforts on scenes from Pismo Beach on up through Cambria.  Every painting tells a story and mine is very much about the Central Coast!"
