ALPHARETTA, Ga. - June 11, 2015 - PRLog -- Tabatha James, Author of multicultural children’s book I Love You Everyday knows exactly how it feels to grow up being only one of a few black faces in a sea of white ones. Her experiences of growing up in Dahlonega, GA, a small rural town in the North Georgia Mountains, inspired her when she published her first multicultural children’s book.

Tabatha was the first and only black woman to ever win the Miss Gold Rush Pageant, the local pageant for her hometown, and it’s an experience she’ll never forget.

“When my photo didn't appear in the newspaper as all previous winners appeared, I was told that it was because none of the photos came out," recalled Tabatha.

Tabatha believes that it was because of the color of her skin instead. Tabatha will be telling her story and signing books as well at the AJC Decatur Book Festival, the largest independent book festival in the nation. The festival takes place September 4-6, 2015 in Decatur, GA.

Her next children’s book is multicultural as well. Read more at www.tabathajames.com.
