Tapped Restaurant Group to Open a Craft Inspired Lakeside Restaurant—Doherty’
Coventry RI–June 15, 2015—The Tapped Restaurant Group, one of Rhode Islands most creative and innovative collection of restaurants, founded by Jack Doherty & Jim Sullivan, will be expanding their restaurant offerings this summer as they open their newest location, Doherty’s Ale House Lakeside. The 300+ seat Craft inspired restaurant will showcase Craft Beer & Spirits, House Made Soda and Globally Inspired Food prepared with local flair as well as one of the area's most untapped assets—the lakefront view on Lake Tiogue.
Industry veteran Frank Peace has joined forces with Doherty and Sullivan as newly appointed President of the Tapped Restaurant Group and is excited to open this newest location and the first step in achieving a vision of over 100 restaurants nationwide. “we look forward to bring our brand of hand crafted dining to Coventry and are excited to be a part of the historic community of Coventry”says Peace. Peace also commented on how The Tapped Restaurant Group takes great pride in the communities it serves and is excited to bring 150 new jobs to the area.
Located on the Eastern shore of Lake Tiogue (446 Tiogue Ave., Coventry RI, 20 miles south of downtown Providence), the restaurant in currently undergoing a complete renovation to ensure key elements highlight the impressive backdrop. This includes adding new windows to overlook the lake front. Sullivan, who leads the design team is excited to have all of the tables, chairs and bar of this nautically themed restaurant custom built by Iron Work Woodworking of Woonsocket. There will be two outside decks overlooking the lake featuring 140 outside seats. The inside will feature a nautical theme and host a welcoming bar area for a casual meet up or dinner. Open seven days a week, service at 11:30am Monday Thru Friday, Closing Nightly at 1 am and serving brunch 10 am till 3 pm Saturday and Sunday.
Every dish at Doherty’s Ale House will feature fresh, hand crafted cuisine prepared by our Chefs. The core of the menu will be globally inspired cuisine prepared with local flair and ingredients. Executive Chef Rob Hilken will offer his popular house made entrees and signature items such as Doherty’s Chicken & Gravy, Braised Short Ribs and Fish and Chips that loyal diners have grown accustom to at Doherty’s Ale House on Jefferson Blvd in Warwick RI. The Lakeside location will also offer hand crafted seafood selections not featured at the Warwick location.
The bar will feature 101 taps from around the globe with a wide array of styles and flavors to satisfy even the most selective craft enthusiast as well as a unique and eclectic specialty cocktail menu. The restaurant will also feature house made 100% all natural soda for all service with favorites Craft Cola, Lemon Lime, Ginger Ale along with seasonal fresh offerings like Wild Maine Blueberry, Slammin Strawberry, Root Beer and restaurant General Manager Alan Campbell’s famous Creme Soda.
“This waterfront location really spoke to me when I first saw it and the Ale House concept was a must,”stated Doherty. “The menu will read like you would expect in this environment and will feature Craft inspired cuisine with the freshest and most seasonal ingredients available. Doherty’s Ale House is the only restaurant on the shores of beautiful Lake Tiogue and the only restaurant of its kind in Coventry.
The Tapped Restaurant Group operates five locations in Rhode Island including Doherty’s Ale House Warwick, Doherty’s Lakeside Ale House Coventry, Shannon View Inn Warwick, Sullivan’s Publick House Pawtucket and Warwick, and Doherty’s East Ave Irish Pub in Pawtucket.
