New ShopRite of Wallington to Open its Doors

WALLINGTON, N.J. - June 10, 2015 - PRLog -- The new ShopRite of Wallington opened its doors, welcoming its first customers. The modern, 60,000-square-foot grocery store is the 22^nd store in the respected, family-owned Inserra Supermarkets chain. It is located in the Wallington Plaza Shopping Center at 375 Paterson Avenue in Wallington.

To mark the grand opening, local dignitaries, including the Mayor of Wallington Walter Wargacki, joined the Inserra family and Donald Nuckel, owner of Donald Nuckel & Company, at both the ribbon-cutting ceremony and preview party. During the morning celebration, the Very Rev. Canon Felix Marciniak and Rev. Steven D’Andrea of the  Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Wallington blessed the store. The festive preview party, which drew more than 400 guests, showcased the restaurant-quality food offerings the store will have available to its customers.

“We took great care in planning and designing each element of this store, ensuring that it meets the needs of the residents of the Borough of Wallington and the neighboring areas,” said Larry Inserra, Jr., chairman and CEO of Mahwah-based Inserra Supermarkets.

Shoppers will quickly notice the exposed, high ceiling dotted with skylights, spreading an abundance of natural light throughout the store. Notable features include an expansive produce section; an in-store eatery with made-to-order sandwiches and offerings by restaurant-trained chefs; ShopRite Kitchen with full-service catering; a sushi stand; and a Lavazza coffee and bakery shop as well as a pharmacy. In the near future, the store will open a liquor store and offer ShopRite from Home services.

ShopRite of Wallington also boasts a vast selection of gourmet, prepared food options of restaurant-quality for busy shoppers and their families looking for quick, healthy meal alternatives. Continuing that focus on the health and wellness of its customers, the store has a registered dietitian on its staff, who is available to offer healthy food and meal preparation tips for people of all ages. In addition, the dietitian will lead the store’s wide range of LiveRight events, including culinary workshops, each month.

“This is a special day for all of us at Inserra, particularly me as it marks the first new store opening since I joined the Inserra Supermarkets family,” said Ron Onorato, who was named president and COO of the Mahwah, N.J.-based company earlier this year.

Established in 1954 by Patsy Inserra as a privately held family business, Inserra Supermarkets remains true to its roots as a family-owned grocery chain committed to serving families and children. During this morning’s ribbon-cutting for ShopRite of Wallington, Mayor Wargacki praised the Inserras for their dedication to customer service and strong family values, which extends to company associates and customers. “They still maintain the quality that made their first store a success,” said the Mayor.

Inserra Supermarkets is widely acknowledged as a good corporate citizen dedicated to making life better for local residents. One recent activity includes ShopRite Partners in Caring, which challenges associates to band together to raise awareness and funds to alleviate hunger in their local communities. The company also supports the Community Food Bank of New Jersey and Table to Table, the first food rescue program serving Northern New Jersey.
