Chicago Bears’ Jermon Bushrod Partners with Special Kids Network for Annual Fundraising Event

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - June 9, 2015 - PRLog -- Chicago Bears’ Jermon Bushrod is known for his offensive line skills, but he’s equally committed to the Visualize & Rize Foundation, which supports youth sports and education programs, to enable students and provide them with the necessary tools to facilitate them to reach their full potential and more.

Bushrod and his Foundation are partnering with the Special Kids Network and will be part of the organization’s annual fundraising event on June 22, 2015 which will benefit Keshet, which serves children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Now in its 16th year, the Special Kids Network’s Annual Celebrity Golf & 11th Annual Women's Tennis Tournament will be held at Long Grove’s Twin Orchard Country Club. Special Recipients for the event are Eye to Eye and the Pediatric-Gastrointestinal Research Foundation at the University of Chicago Hospital.

Bushrod will feel right at home since this annual event has featured many media and sports celebrities such as Jeremy Roenick, Denis Savard, Ben Smith, Brandon Pirri, Brandon Bollig, Stan Bowman, Adam Clendening, Stephen Johns, Ryan Hartman John Anderson, Sarah Kustok, Jim Hendry, Gar Forman, Neil Funk, Stacy King, Chuck Swirsky, Ryan Baker, Bill Wennington, Chris Boden and Chris Williams (Actor & Comedian).

The Special Kids Network (SKN), created the annual celebrity golf outing and women’s tennis tournament to develop resources that enable SKN to execute its mission. Since 1999, the event has proven successful, raising more than $1.5 million. Last year’s sold out event had continued that tradition. The success of these events allows us to continue to contribute funds to the charitable organizations that have come to rely on SKN to fund programs and research. With limited government funding for most social programs, this reliance on SKN has grown even stronger.

"Visualize & Rize is helping young people rise to their potential. This is all the more challenging within the special needs community, where there are more barriers to achievement, but kids can overcome these barriers. This is a message that I think resonates with our kids, who gain a greater appreciation for maximizing their abilities and embracing their leadership potential ,” said Bushrod, who signed with the Bears in 2013 and was a standout lineman last year.
