“Paying the Price for Peace: The Story of S. Brian Willson & The Peace Movement”
By: Bo Boudart Productions

MENLO PARK, Calif. - June 8, 2015 - PRLog -- Award winning independent documentary filmmaker Bo Boudart is nearing completion of the feature documentary film, Paying the Price for Peace: The Story of S. Brian Willson & The Peace Movement, which tells the story of S. Brian Willson’s courageous attempts to promote peace through non-violent actions, as well as the struggle and sacrifice of other American veterans and civilians.  The film features other notable peace advocates such as Daniel Ellsberg, Amy Goodman, Blase Bonpane, Martin Sheen, Colonel Ann Wright, Ron Kovic, Cindy Sheehan, Medea Benjamin, Camilo Mejia, Mike Prysner, Bruce Gagnon, David Hartsough, David Swanson, and Alice Walker.

Bo Boudart Productions successfully raised over $30,000 in the initial stages through an Indiegogo crowdsource-funding campaign in 2012.   The contributions to the film were made from over a hundred donors including multiple chapters of Veteran’s for Peace, Noam Chomsky, Medea Benjamin, and Frances Fisher. Funds raised went towards production expenses for crew, travel to interview subjects such as President Ortega in Nicragua, many U.S. peace demonstrations in major cities, and interviews with members of organizations such as the A.N.S.W.E.R coalition, CodePink, Veterans For Peace, Iraq Veterans For Peace, and more.

The second Indiegogo campaign to complete the film (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/final-production-for-p...) is now live and will run until July 16th, 2015. In the first four days, the film raised over 20% of the $35,000 goal. In exchange for contributions, donors from both campaigns will end up receiving copies of the finished documentary, signed movie posters, signed copies of S. Brian Willson’s book, “Blood on the Tracks”, peace-pins, credit in the film, or an invitation to and recognition at screening events in the donors area.

S. Brian Willson, is an Air Force Vietnam Veteran turned Peace Activist, who lost both of his legs during a peaceful demonstration when he was struck by a munitions train that was speeding 3 times over the legal limit at the protesters in Concord, California. Thousands of anti-war demonstrators ripped up the railroad tracks and blocked all trains for the following 865 days in protest of all munitions shipments to Nicaragua or El Salvador.  Congress had passed legislation that prohibited funding the covert US backed wars to overthrow democratically elected governments in Central American countries, but the Reagan administration illegally continued to support the Contra war.  The film follows today’s peace movement, the ongoing acts of U.S. military aggressions in multiple countries, and the reasons why we need to challenge a perpetual war profiteering economy.
