A Winning Season for Olen Cosmetics Corporation

EAST ST PAUL, Manitoba - June 8, 2015 - PRLog -- It has been a busy awards year for Majda Ficko, President of the Winnipeg-based Olen Cosmetics Corporation Inc., and WEConnect International-Canada certified business owner.

In May, Majda won the Emerging Business Award at Manitoba’s prestigious Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards presented by Women Business Owners of Manitoba. Around the same time, it was announced that she had been nominated for the 2015 E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year award.

“It is truly an honour just to be nominated for these awards,” said Majda, whose purpose and passion for creating an all-natural diaper rash cream was born out of pure necessity. “My first child was born with a rare syndrome that requires him to be in diapers 24/7. I was desperate to find a safe product that would heal and prevent diaper rashes.” Unable to find anything suitable for her son, Majda formulated Baby Butz (http://www.babybutz.com/), a four-ingredient cream made using a proprietary formulation process.

In less than three years, Baby Butz cream has become a multi-award winning natural health product licensed by Health Canada. It is distributed and sold across Canada in baby boutiques, pharmacies, health stores and large grocery chains including Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaw Superstores, Safeway and Metro.

The next steps for this Canadian manufacturing and distribution company are:

·         Expansion into the U.S. and international markets. In her preliminary conversations with U.S.-based corporations, Majda has discovered how valuable WEConnect certification is! This spring she was invited to a Walgreens procurement workshop and discussions with their buyers continue.

·         Expansion of the product line to include unique all-natural products for babies, children and adults. R&D work is underway on hair and body care products, while Baby Butz Wipes and SunBlocz, a sun protectant for all ages, will be appearing on store shelves soon.
