BIC EURONOVA S.A. Earns NBIA Soft Landings DesignationEuropean Business and Innovation Centre Helps Foreign Companies Enter Spain’s Domestic Market
By: The National Business Incubation Association BIC EURONOVA Málaga Business & Innovation Centre, an institution specialized in business creation and development, offers expansion and internationalization programs for Spanish enterprises by helping companies from other countries establish themselves in Spain. The newly created “business bridge” program builds a business connection between the US and Spain, and it is specifically designed for companies located in one of those countries wishing to start activities in the other one with the best possible competitive conditions, including business location to achieve the highest probability of success. Since 1996 several businesses promoted by foreign entrepreneurs have been accepted in the BIC EURONOVA incubator. “Over the last three years we have been more active in our soft landing offerings. We have been working with European companies to expand their business in Spain. Right now we have three foreign companies amongst the 40 based in the incubator, representing British, Dutch, Danish and Belgian nationalities” One client company success story, Stockholm Precision Tools AB (APT), was accepted into BIC EURONOVA in July 2010. They received foreign capital to help support their efforts in the investigation and development of tools in the geophysical field for surveying and drilling industry. Today, the company has 10 employees and turn over 1,400,000€/year, and are now collaborating with more than 20 Spanish companies. “One of the ways NBIA serves the global entrepreneurial ecosystem is through our Soft Landings program”, explains Kirstie Chadwick, President and CEO of NBIA. “All of the organizations holding this designation were able to demonstrate success supporting foreign entrepreneurs through a strong offering of international business services and programs. Bic Euronova becomes only the second organization in Spain to earn this designation and we are excited to have them join this distinguished list.” NBIA’s Soft Landings International Incubator designations are effective for two years; programs must reapply biennially to retain the designation.
