Maryam Rajavi - Message of Hope During France’s 2015 Flower Festival

June 7, 2015 - PRLog -- June 5, 2015 Paris – National Council of Resistance in Iran (NCRI) President Elect Maryam Rajavi (http://www.maryam-rajavi.com/en/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1790:maryam-rajavi-at-flowers-festival-at-auvers-sur-oise&catid=147&Itemid=498) celebrated France’s Flower Festival today at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Guillot, two supporters of the NCRI (http://www.ncr-iran.org/en/news/iran-resistance/18451-maryam-rajavi-meets-residents-of-auvers-sur-oise-in-flower-festival) movement. The Flower Festival is celebrated every year from June 5 through 17. The festival encourages families to craft their best flower displays and open their gardens to their neighbors, thus building friendships and drawing neighborhoods together.

Groups of children, from Yemen, Syria, Iraq and Iran, planted saplings that were meant to represent a future with peace and friendship. “Your lovely flowers and the saplings of hope planted by children are indeed watered by your gentle humanitarian emotions and the hope, love and solidarity that fill your hearts for a better future for all human beings. These values have made your flowers all the more beautiful,” said Rajavi. The children also planted flower seedlings.

Rajavi also thanked the Guillots and others in France that have supported the Iranian resistance. The goals of this resistance are a non-nuclear Iran. “We want a secular, pluralist republic and a non-nuclear Iran based on equality and separation of religion and state,” said Rajavi in her remarks. She noted that peace and stability in Iran would contribute to that same stability throughout the Middle East.

A number of residents of Auvers-sur-Oise who were present at the event expressed their support for the Iranian opposition’s major rally that will be held on Saturday, June 13, in Villepante, Paris. (http://iranfreedom.org/)

Rajavi has attended several international events this year, including an event in April for International Women’s Day (http://women.ncr-iran.org/events/women-s-day-conferences), which touted the importance of a democratic Iran while decrying the violence being instigated by the regime in Iran. Rajavi has previously noted that the violence continues to increase, despite Western attempts to shape peace treaties meant to strengthen Iran’s connections with the global community.

There were various musical artists and handcrafted art workshops, drawing neighbors from this suburb of Paris.
