Route Announced for the LuMind RDS Foundation’s NASCAR-Themed Race for Research Road Rally

The race is on! The July 6-8, 2015 road rally features stops along racing history, visits with NASCAR legends and current drivers. A once-in-a-life-time experience for NASCAR fans that accelerates Down syndrome cognition research!
 
MARLBOROUGH, Mass. - June 5, 2015 - PRLog -- The LuMind Research Down Syndrome Foundation (http://www.lumindfoundation.org/) announces the route for its three-day road rally to raise funds for Down syndrome cognition research. Co-chaired by NASCAR driver David Ragan and his wife Jacquelyn, the Road Rally features teams of decaled cars visiting “pit-stops” throughout the Carolinas, completing scavenger hunt tasks, delving into NASCAR history, and meeting racing legends and current drivers.

Beginning in Darlington, South Carolina on July 6, the Race for Research teams will visit:

·        Charlotte Motor Speedway, Concord, NC

·        zMAX, Concord, NC

·        Childress Winery, Lexington, NC

·        Hendrick Shop, Charlotte, NC

·        Sam Bass, Concord, NC

·        JR Motorsports, Mooresville, NC

·        NASCAR Institute, Mooresville, NC

·        Performance Instruction and Training, Mooresville, NC

·        Michael Waltrip Race Shop, Cornelius, NC

·        GoPro, Mooresville, NC

The Ragans join LuMind RDS Foundation to help improve opportunities for people with Down syndrome. David Ragan’s older brother Adam was born with an extra chromosome: Trisomy 21, or Down syndrome.

“Cognition research for Down syndrome has made tremendous strides over the last few years, and these new discoveries are now fueling several promising clinical trials," David Ragan said. "But a lack of funding is a major reason why my brother and the more than 250,000 Americans living with Down syndrome don't have access to treatments yet,” he added.
