Follow on Google News | Kobina Wright Launches Crowd Funding Campaign on IndiegogoArtist and writer launches campaign to fund art show titled STATIC!. The show is scheduled to take place in August and is inspired by the fight against authoritative abuse of power.
By: KobinaWright.com Wright’s abstract work was initially inspired by the death and FBI cover-up of Fred Hampton, however, Wright’s work from the STATIC! series has broadened, encompassing the issue and fight against, police brutality, rogue government actions and the abuse of authority. For the initial launch on the 1st of June, Wright organized what was called “The STATIC! Wave, in which a video about the art show and its inspiration was forward by waves according to time zones. The time set to launch the first wave of the video was at noon, Eastern Standard Time. About Fred Hampton Hampton was born on August 30, 1948 and became the chairman of the Illinois chapter of the BPP, and deputy chairman of the national BPP. He was murdered while sleeping in his apartment during a raid by a tactical unit of the Cook County's State's Attorney's Office, in conjunction with the Chicago Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Hampton died on December 4, 1969. He was 21 years old. About Kobina Wright Wright is an American writer, artist, actress and language creator. She is known primarily for her poetry and abstract art which is constantly evolving.
