Heidrea for Heroes Launches Essay Contest for Action TrackChair for a Veteran

PLYMOUTH, Mass. - June 3, 2015 - PRLog -- Heidrea for Heroes (www.heidrea4heroes.org),  a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing resources and support to military men and women facing challenges and hurdles after transitioning back to civilian life, is offering a deserving veteran the chance to win a free Action TrackChair, valued at over $10,000, through an essay contest that Heidrea for Heroes is sponsoring.

The Action TrackChair is an all-terrain wheelchair, ideal for the veteran who likes to get to places which might otherwise be difficult to access – such as for hunting, fishing, going out to the beach, or just enjoying time in the forest.

The aim of the essay contest is to find a disabled, wheelchair-dependent veteran living on the South Shore, South Coast, or Cape, or in the Metrowest area who is an outdoor recreation enthusiast and can benefit tremendously from an Action TrackChair (an all-terrain wheelchair).

A veteran can write the essay him/herself, or can be nominated by a friend or family member.  The essay should be limited to 200 words and should include:  a description of the outdoor activities the veteran enjoys and how being able to access those activities would be life-enhancing; a brief description of the veteran’s injuries and how they were sustained; and a list of where the veteran was stationed while on active duty.   The veteran’s DD214 and contact information (name, phone number and address) of the veteran should also be included with the essay.
