Follow on Google News | Surfing has entered a new age of technology, and there is just no going backIn 2011, electrical engineer Peter Wolniansky and co-inventor, Marisa Rojo attended the Long Beach Quicksilver Pro. Peter noticed a distinct commonality among the top pro surfers. Their aerial landing ratio was only about 10%. This is when the idea of using a single point magnet was born to help keep surfboards attached to a rider’s feet while attempting big aerial maneuvers. Together, Peter and Marisa went to work on prototyping until they invented something unique, strong, and effective. After 3 years of development and with the help of their alpha tester, Chris Stiegler who now is their Chief Brand Ambassador, the two completed the magnetic binding as we know it today, adding 180 lbs. of magnetic force between the surfer and their board. They also spent the grueling winter of 2015 successfully formulating their patent which is now pending. Since then, Tara Ferguson, of Neptune Twp. joined the SLi team. Collectively their efforts helped SLi to be recognized by four of the most well known surf registers in the world: Surfer Magazine, The Inertia, Surf-Report and Eastern Surf Magazine with over a million followers worldwide. This facilitated SLi’s product FUEGZ, to be recognized among several coastal surf communities. With a quality product, enthusiasm, and the support of their community, SLi has high hopes for the future. Learn more about the FUEGZ: Magnetic Binding System by visiting indiegogo.com. End
