Eagle Railcar Wichita Falls Celebrates Expansion

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - June 2, 2015 - PRLog -- Eagle Railcar Services in Wichita Falls celebrates its Phase 2 expansion with a ribbon cutting ceremony on the site of the former St. Gobain/Vetrotex facility.

"The second phase of our project in Wichita Falls is four years ahead of schedule due to new laws recently enacted by the Federal Department of Transportation," said Marc Walraven, an owner of Eagle Railcar Services.  He added, "We'd like to thank the Wichita Falls Economic Development Corporation, the City of Wichita Falls, the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce and Industry and ultimately the taxpayers of the City of Wichita Falls for partnering with us on this exciting project!"

Dick Bundy from the 4A Board said "We were excited when Eagle Railcar committed to invest in our community in 2013 and are elated with their announcement to expand four years ahead of schedule. This expansion could not have happened without the responsiveness and cooperative effort of our economic development team. The expansion will result in the addition of 128 new primary jobs, new investment and new tax revenue for the City, the County and the WFISD".

In July 2013 the City of Wichita Falls and the Wichita Falls Economic Development Corporation approved an incentive package worth $928,000 to entice the company to locate here as long as the company created 64 new jobs within three years of start-up. Eagle Railcar Services has already met that benchmark.

In April 2015 city leaders approved a second incentive package so the company could continue its aggressive expansion plans. The current $928-thousand package includes a $500,000 forgivable loan, provided the company will create another 64 jobs in Wichita Falls. Eagle currently has 73 employees and plans to grow to 200 employees within the next three years.
