And now, its maiden voyage, a transatlantic soujourn celebrating Lafayette and French alliance. Following sea trials and training, the Hermione set sail for this historic voyage in April, from the mouth of the River Charente, in Port des Barques, where the Marquis Lafayette boarded March 1780. Making Landfall in Yorktown, VA and will travel up the Eastern Seaboard visiting Ports significant to the Revolution. A captain's log of activities is schedule with cultural events, exhibitions and educational programs that celebrate the Hermoine Voyage. The historic voyage then will move up the coast to Old Town Alexandria Harbor and Mt. Vernon, then sail on to visit ports of Annapolis, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, Newport and then Halifax before the return journey to France.
