THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - June 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Chabad of the Conejo, a Jewish educational and social service organization serving the Conejo Valley from seven regional centers, will host a community-wide “Evening of Jewish Song and Solidarity” at 7:30 p.m. Wed., June 10 at the Kavli Theater, Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza (2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.).

Headlined by Israeli-born singer and Broadway star Dudu Fisher, the program will have the theme “Stand Strong! Stand Proud!” The program is being billed as an entertaining, inspiring and unifying experience for the Southern California Jewish Community.

Fisher’s eclectic musical repertoire includes songs from “Fiddler on the Roof,” Elvis, Broadway and Ashkenazic and Sephardic selections. In 1986, after landing the lead role of Jean Valjean in the Hebrew version of the hit musical “Les Miserables,” Fisher went on reprise the role in English on Broadway and in London’s West End.

The event will feature a special appearance by American entertainer Tony Orlando. He will be receiving the evening’s Voice of Courage Award in recognition of his support on behalf of Israel and American patriotism.

Orlando visited with the families of the three Israeli teenagers who were kidnapped last summer and he made a public plea for their safe return.

Upon receiving the award, Orlando will perform some American and Jewish favorites, including duets with Fisher.

The program will also mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camps with a memorial tribute to the 6-million Jews who died in the Holocaust.

Martin and Sandi Glade will receive the Champions of the Spirit Award. Martin Glade, whose parents and five out of six siblings died at Auschwitz, is a survivor of concentration camps.

Tickets are $22 to $108: VIP tickets are $180. Each ticket will be charged a $6 service fee.
