Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida Presents Awards at Annual Appreciation Event

FORT MYERS, Fla. - June 1, 2015 - PRLog -- On Thursday May 21, Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida (JA SWFL) hosted their annual Appreciation Event at Six Bends in Fort Myers, Fla. The event honored teachers and volunteers who have made a difference to the organization and in the lives of Southwest Florida students.

Awards were presented to individuals in Lee and Collier County who went above and beyond in their service to Junior Achievement. The volunteer of the year award was given to Bill Holderby from Collier County and Judith Yevick from Lee County. The teacher of the year award was given to Bob Jackson from Collier County and Brittany Montano from Lee County. The rookie of the year for Collier County was Jennifer Patterson and from Lee County, Aaron Polk.  The “over (the edge) achiever” volunteer award was given to Christina Harris-Schwinn.

Junior Achievement also gave out two surprise awards. The heart of Junior Achievement award went to long-time employee, Jodie Greenhoe. The star of Junior Achievement was awarded Scott Fischer, CEO of Scott Fischer Enterprises, for his role on the board of directors.

Outstanding business partners of the year awards were also given out at gold, silver and bronze levels. PBS Contracting received the gold level award, Iberia Bank’s Daniels Parkway/Orion Drive branch received the silver award and Pavese Law Firm received the bronze. A champion of the year award was given to Scott Fischer Enterprises.
