MIAMI - May 29, 2015 - PRLog -- STEM education is about to get fun! Zaniac has arrived in Miami. The innovative afterschool STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) enrichment program has opened its first Florida location at Dadeland Station in Miami.

Zaniac serves students in grades K-8 and offers the perfect combination of learning and fun by featuring a variety of engaging programs that nurture children’s love of math and technology.

The progressive curriculum is custom designed to help students learn at their own pace with hands-on, interactive, real world applications for math and science.". Classes include Zane Math, Game-Based Learning:  Minecraft™; Robotics; Computer Programming; 3D printing; and more.

In addition to its cutting-edge curriculum, what makes Zaniac novel is its campus; with vibrant colors, computer labs, and collaborative learning areas, Zaniac campuses are an active and inspiring place where children expand their minds and develop their passions for exploring and innovating.

The United States is currently ranked 52nd in STEM education. Recognizing that the gap in public school STEM curricula is a major contributor to that ranking, Zaniac’s mission is to provide programs that will prepare today’s kids for future jobs.

“When it comes to learning STEM concepts, there is no upper limit to what a child should learn at their specific grade,” said Paul Zane Pilzer, Founder and Chairman of Zaniac. “Students often have painful experiences learning in a classroom because they have either learned the concept before or because they master the new concept faster than their peers. Zaniac allows students to progress at their own pace and better prepare for the future which is exactly what we are starting to see more of around the world.”

“I was looking for a math and computer coding program that engages and inspires my daughters and motivates them to become better critical thinkers,” stated Neydy Gomez, Zaniac South Miami co-owner.  “When I learned about Zaniac, I immediately knew we needed to bring this program to South Florida.”

"Playful experiences are learning experiences,” added Claudia Machado, Zaniac South Miami co-owner. “Through play, children enhance their creativity, solve problems and develop social skills."

Zaniac’s founder, Paul Zane Pilzer, is a college professor, economist, social entrepreneur and best-selling author. Pilzer served as an appointed economic advisor in two White House administrations and has started or taken public six companies in healthcare and K-12 education.

Zaniac’s South Miami location is owned by Claudia Machado and Neydy Gomez, both mothers and successful advertising executives who saw an unfilled need for this type of programming in South Florida.

Zaniac South Miami is currently accepting enrollments for its math and technology summer camps. Weekly sessions run from June 1 to August 28. A departure of the traditional summer camps offered in Miami, Zaniac summer camps are condensed versions of the STEM programs offered after school during the school year.

Zaniac, which also has a notable presence in Utah, Connecticut and California, is a division of Zane Prep, a privately held company headquartered in Park City, Utah.

Zaniac South Miami is located at 8320 South Dixie Highway (Dadeland Station Shopping Center), Miami, FL 33143. For more information, call (305) 668-0605 or visit http[://www.zaniaclearning.com/southmiami.
