Singing HR Manager is a big hit at Maldron

CARDIFF, Wales - May 28, 2015 - PRLog -- Since joining the Best Western Plus Maldron Hotel Cardiff last year, as their HR and training manager, Janine (40) has been brightening employees’ days by using her skills as a trained opera singer.

“Yes, I sing all the time at work,” says Janine, who took professional singing lessons from the age of 14-years-old.

“I use song as an ice-breaker for team meetings, as it is fun, lightens the mood and encourages engagement and interaction with the staff,” she added.

With a career in HR and recruitment that started with her working for Whitbread as their recruitment and training manager in 1997, Janine has worked with some high profile organisations such as Jamie Oliver and Wagamama.

“I was attracted to working at the Maldron Hotel Cardiff because of the culture, people and vision of the organisation, they like to engage with their employees and I believe that this is integral to a professional business,” concluded Janine.

Janine is responsible for recruitment, engagement, training and development, employment relations and leadership skills for one of the largest city centre hotels in Cardiff.  She lives in Maes-y-Coed, Pontypridd, with her partner and has a 12-year-old son.
