May 28, 2015 - PRLog -- Brussels, 28 May 2015 – The latest progress report from the .eu registry, EURid, has shown that the total number of .eu domain names registered at the end of Q1 represented an increase of 2.3%, or 87 549 registrations, when compared with the total number at the end of Q1 2014.

‘It is worth noting that growth rates can vary significantly during this period as many domain names come up for renewal during the first quarter of the year. Despite specific fluctuations, the number of registered .eu domain names, have now grown on an annual basis for eight consecutive years. We owe these figures in part to the loyalty of our customers’, commented the General Manager, Marc Van Wesemael.

During the first quarter, the total number of .eu registrations increased in 16 of the 31 EU member states and eligible EEA countries. Croatia, Poland and Italy all saw growth of more than 4%. At the end of Q1 registrants in Norway had registered 12 859 names, Iceland 309 and Liechtenstein 135.
