West End Business Helps Set Hollywood Record

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. - May 28, 2015 - PRLog -- Classical Conversations, Inc., supports families in homeschool communities across the country. This summer those communities organized almost 150 theaters to show Beyond The Mask through an on-demand service, Gathr, which relies on ticket presales to “tip” a showing.

Total, Beyond the Mask achieved 600 screenings in all 50 states for 70,000 moviegoers, crushing the previous record and turning heads of Hollywood production companies. The record-breaking opening also captured the attention of major film distributors. The film was acquired by Freestyle Releasing, distributors of the successful 2014 film God's Not Dead. Beyond the Mask is scheduled for a traditional release in select theaters on June 5, 2015.

John Rhys Davies of Lord of the Rings fame stars as the villain. "I sort of like mavericks who challenge the Hollywood studio system," Rhys-Davies said of working with homeschoolers and a grassroots effort. "There are many subcultures in the U.S., and they always defy my expectations, and I welcome homeschoolers. I find them keen and enthusiastic, with a moral code and impressive integrity. I really liked working with them — and they made a jolly good romp of a film.
