foodpanda Thailand has proven itself the fastest growing online food delivery service provider in the market with 20% monthly order growth. The company welcomes more than 280,000 unique visitors to its website each month along with more than 350,000 app downloads.

“Our successful growth is a result of innovative strategies that combine geographical expansion – the exploration of new business opportunities in more cities, which led to our current coverage in key areas of Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya and Hua Hin – and coverage densification, which is achieved by increasing the number of partner restaurants and diversifying the cuisine on offer along with customer target groups. Currently, more than 700 restaurants can deliver their menu directly to customers, whether at home, work, or anywhere else. foodpanda also revealed insights on its customers in Thailand, including profiles and attitudes towards online food ordering. The company’s data show that more Thai people are placing online orders, reflecting their growing affiliation with technology, increasing social network activity, and greater interest in internet-based service platforms.

·         Majority of customers for online food ordering are Thais (56%), compared to only 12% in 2012

·         Food delivery in Thailand is growing faster with 150-percent growth since 2012

·         46% of orders were made through the website, while 53% and 1% originated from the application and the call center respectively

·         Loyal customers place at least 10 orders per month with an average monthly value of 9,000 baht

·         Burger is the most popular menu ordered (23%), followed by pizza (15%) and Thai food (10%)

·         Top delivery areas in Bangkok are Sukhumvit, Asoke and Sathorn
