Duskin Program In Japan Is Inviting Applications For 2016-17

The Duskin Program is designed to provide training to the highly motivated young individuals who are afflicted with disabilities in Asia and Pacific region. In this regard, the Secretariat for the program is inviting applications for 2016-17.
 
KOLKATA, India - May 22, 2015 - PRLog -- Duskin Leadership Training in Japan, a program for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the countries of Asia and Pacific, is organizing a 10 months long training opportunity for persons with disabilities. The program will be held in Japan for learning the current situation of welfare measures as well as services for PWDs. A number of workshops are also going to be provided where the participants would be given the opportunity to improve their practical skills as well as develop good leadership qualities.

The Duskin Program is designed to provide training to the highly motivated young individuals who are disabled in Asia and Pacific region. In this regard, the Secretariat for Duskin Leadership Training in Japan is inviting applications for the eighteenth Duskin Leadership Training program in Japan for 2016-17.

Asha Bhavan Centre, a registered NGO for disabled persons in India applies for the Duskin Program in Japan. Other registered organizations that work for PWDs in the countries and regions in Asia and Pacific, excluding New Zealand and Australia, can also apply. Like every year, this year too the number of trainees accepted will be 10.

PWDs eligibility criteria:

PWDs who want to contribute to their own group of people as leaders in the future

Age limit: 18-25 years

Persons who will be able to complete the ten month training and adapt themselves to the life of Japanese

Persons who can communicate in Japanese or in English

Persons who can carry out their daily activities mostly without any help

Persons who are able to attend the orientation sessions and interviews in their own nations before training

Persons who can plan the training program by their own and take responsibilities for all kinds of risks

The Executive Committee is going to screen all the application forms and nominate the candidates. The Committee members will then interview those candidates in their own nations and considering the results of interviews, the Committee is going to select the trainees finally.
