Silver Cove encourages Albertans to look for treasure

RED DEER, Alberta - May 19, 2015 - PRLog -- Each spring, people of all ages, interest levels and abilities begin looking at the ground, picking up stones, and asking themselves, "I wonder what this could be..." It is a great question that the great people at Silver Cove love to answer!

Silver Cove, a Central Alberta based company dedicated to gemstones, minerals, fossils and crystals, spends a few weeks each spring taking the general public to rock hunts throughout the province of Alberta. Showing them what amazing treasures can be found in their own backyard!

"Alberta is an ancient glacial flow, which means that rocks from thousands of kiolmeters away have been deposited here. You will not find minesites here in Alberta, but that doesn't mean there isn't pleanty of amazing pieces here, you just have to look a little harder!" says owner, Melissa Robak.

Agates, Jaspers, Marbles, Quatzsites, Granites, Leaf Impressions, Garnets and so much more can be found here in Alberta, using nothing more than a pocket knife (for scratch testing) a pair of closed toed shoes, and a bucket to hold your treasures. Of course, a rock hammer and chisel never hurt to have along!

Many of the hunts are all ages events, allowing parents, grandparents, and children to all go together, sharing the rock hunting experience with each other.
