YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. - May 15, 2015 - PRLog -- Hearts 4 Heroes (H4HUS) today announced its support and attendance at The 2015 My Brother Vinny Walk, a fundraising awareness event for efforts to distribute food, clothing, furniture and housewares to US Veterans, outreach groups, shelters and families in the Westchester County area.

Key Burns, President of H4HUS, said, "The My Brother Vinny organization is a perfect alignment and compliment to the H4HUS mission. Our efforts also work with veterans to provide animal therapy programs to the vets who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Through our dog and horse rescue programs we save animals and help those who have served our country."

About Hearts 4 Heroes US (H4HUS):

H4HUS, founded by Key Burns in 2013 is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Bedford, NY. Through H4HUS, veterans are introduced to dogs that have been rescued from kill shelters, or horses that have been abandoned or repurposed. After the animals are evaluated, desensitized and educated by professional trainers, they are matched with veterans based on their individual needs. The equine and canine therapy programs establish goals for the participants to solve problems, build teams and relationships, learn to complete specific tasks, or simply increase confidence and renew an individual’s self-esteem. For its horses and veterans' programs, H4HUS use the Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) and Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) models. Such certification ensures that training is established for non-verbal communication, problem solving, taking responsibility, relationship building and teamwork, and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP). H4HUS currently conducts its horse rescue and therapy programs at the Therapeutic Equestrian Center in Cold Spring, NY and at Gossamer Pond Farms in Cameron, NC. About My Brother Vinny

My Brother Vinny, a NYS 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, is dedicated to the memory of Vincent Miritello. Vincent lived his life with Cerebral Palsy, but was not defined with his disability. Because of her observance of her brother Vincent's attitude throughout his life, Paula Miritello had in her heart a devoted love to help others, which slowly turned into the organization known as My Brother Vinny. Paula's vision for the future is for people to hear “My Brother Vinny” and know they have a resource, friend and help without question and with all heart.  My Brother Vinny seeks to distribute food, clothing and furniture and housewares to US Veterans, other outreach groups, shelters and families in and around the Westchester County vicinity. The organization, which is 100% volunteer organization, establishes and implements community based events geared towards improving the enjoyment of life, happiness and health of the emotionally, physically and intellectually disabled. Every event has a benefit towards helping others and getting people involved. Whether it is delivering gifts to over 140 residents at an adult home or providing gifts to children in low income community centers, My Brother Vinny strives to spread joy. Its “My Brother Vinny Play Time with a Purpose” is a free monthly program for registrants at Gymboree Play & Music of Yorktown that combines free play, arts, music and dance and coordinates donations for a charity beneficiary of choice such as an animal rescue. My Brother Vinny is a resource to the Department of Veteran Affairs HUDVASH Program and the chronically homeless US Veterans staring over in the VA Montrose, VA Bronx, VA Castlepoint Campuses.  Since June 2013, My Brother Vinny has assigned over one hundred and seventy-three (173) US Veterans with moves and transition to independent living.
