BALTIMORE - May 14, 2015 - PRLog -- Statement by the Founder of the Discrimination Free Zone Foundation about His Hometown of Baltimore

Miami, Florida.  April 30th, 2015.

I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland and will forever cherish the great friendships I made and the wonderful experiences I had there.  Growing up in such a diverse and inclusive city established my core beliefs in equality and tolerance, and these fundamental principles guided me as the Founder of The Discrimination Free Zone Foundation, a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization aimed at ending discrimination worldwide.

What the world has witnessed in Baltimore recently certainly does not demonstrate the great city Baltimore actually is.  The Baltimore I have always called home accepts people of all races and colors.  Anyone who spends time in this great town quickly realizes it’s a place in which people of all sizes, shapes and colors interact, work side by side, love each other, and look out for one another.

As my hometown works to repair itself from the recent state of emergency, I am saddened by the reality of what the world just observed, but I’m also hopeful and optimistic about the great challenge that lies ahead for our great city as we begin to unite and endure through the toughest of times.  We have a great task ahead in repairing our race relations here and across the country, and Baltimore is ready to begin working as a leader on this urgent and significant issue.  Tolerance, inclusion, and equality must be woven into the fabric of our public and private lives, thereby encouraging diversity and cohesion.

Our freedom to be different, while being entitled to equal protection of our great laws, is what our flag represents and what makes our great country so unique and exciting.  We must turn this great storm we are weathering into a catalyst for change and growth.  For us to begin to repair what needs to be fixed we must focus not on pointing fingers but instead on forging ahead and coming up with solutions.  Let’s stand together to address our issues, lead the way for positive change, and promote unity and acceptance for everyone.
