By: IntegraCare The senior living community will host its popular oldies rock ’n roll show to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 16. Pittsburgh band Johnny Angel and the Halos will return after a well-received show in 2014. “Johnny Angel and the Halos are from Irwin and they’re very popular,” said Pamela Porter, Director of Sales and Marketing for Newhaven Court at Lindwood. “The band has a large following. There are groups of people who follow the band everywhere they play.” The event is free and open to the public, though a $5 donation to the Alzheimer’s Association is requested. Newhaven Court at Lindwood is located at 100 Freedom Way in Greensburg. Rock Around the Clock will be held outdoors in a 40-by-80-foot tent. Dancing, food and beverages will be part of the afternoon gathering. “Rock Around the Clock is a fun and exciting event,” said Lori Grant, Executive Director of Newhaven Court at Lindwood. “Our seniors, their family members and anyone who loves music will have a great time. Johnny Angel and the Halos is a popular band. The group puts on an excellent show.” Last May, the Rock Around the Clock event drew a crowd and raised money for Luke’s Wings, an organization that unites wounded warriors, veterans and heroes with their loved ones when they need them most. “This is such a special day because Rock Around the Clock is such an enjoyable time for all of those involved, yet we use this event to help a great cause each year,” Grant said. Newhaven Court at Lindwood is the host and primary sponsor of the event. Excela Health also is a sponsor. End
