Debthelper.com Receives Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development

May 13, 2015 - PRLog -- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded more than $36 million in grants to hundreds of national, regional and local organizations to help families and individuals with their housing needs and to prevent future foreclosures.

Credit Card Management Services, Inc., dba Debthelper.com, a non-profit agency dedicated to its mission to educate, advise and empower youth to seniors to handle debt, credit and housing and to provide affordable housing opportunities, has been awarded a total of $75,215.

“Access to knowledge and information is vital to every family’s success,” said HUD Secretary Julián Castro.  “These grants will expand housing opportunities for families across our nation.  The evidence is clear: housing counseling works.  We look forward to working with our housing counseling partners to empower American families with the tools to prosper.”

Dba Debthelper.com's funding awards provides for reverse mortgage counseling that will assist seniors to remain living in their homes; help to combat predatory lending by helping unwary borrowers avoid potential mortgage scams and other conditions that can result in a loss of equity, increased debt, default, and even foreclosure and help new home buyers learn more about budgeting and savings for sustained home ownership.​

During 2014, Credit Card Management Services, Inc. Dba Debthelper.com provided over 9,000 housing clients with educational assistance. Debthelper.com housing counseling program consist primarily​of pre-purchase home buyer counseling and education, delinquency/default resolution and reverse mortgage (HECM) counseling.
