What Your Nonprofit/Association is Not Hearing: The Need for Social Media Listening

WASHINGTON - May 13, 2015 - PRLog -- Washington, DC – One of the nation’s fastest growing Association Management Software (AMS) companies based on the Microsoft Dynamics® CRM platform is excited to announce its recent 2-part publication, “What Your Nonprofit/Association is Not Hearing: The Need for Social Media Listening.”

Most organizations have some kind of social media presence, but when asked if their social media efforts are helping to increase membership or generate donations, most will say, “No.” Our Social Engagement expert, Nadia Isata, has explored this issue and contributed to a two-part article that breaks down the gap between associations’ and nonprofits’ goals with social media, the reality of how much social “chatter” exists in the public sphere, and how organizations can benefit from the right kind of social media strategy. The reality is that most associations and nonprofits do not have an accurate understanding of the information that is actually being posted, tweeted, shared, etc. about them.

Our articles highlight these issues and suggest tools that can present metrics of seemingly unmeasurable subjective opinions.  These metrics can then be used to not only help understand the message the public is hearing about the organization but also potentially assist the organization in securing more diversified funding.
