Follow on Google News | Kent State's College of Business Administration Recognizes Doctoral Candidate ResearchBy: Kent state College of Business Administration Tanai, management and information systems Ph.D. student came in first place with an award of $750 for his paper, “Reducing the Cost of Untimely Supply Chain Delivery Performance for Asymmetric Laplace Distributed Delivery.” Tanai’s research interests include supply chain management, productions and operations management, close-loop supply chain, value-added recovery, pricing management, product returns and third party reverse logistics. His models include statistical, stochastic and mathematical optimizations as well as simulations. “I am grateful to earn the Dean’s Best Paper Award,” Tanai said. “The quality education I have received through Kent State’s program and from my mentors has led me to this award. The College of Business Administration continues to advance its academic and research excellence domestically and globally, and I’m honored to play a part in it.” Alexiou, second year marketing and entrepreneurship Ph.D. student was runner-up with an award of $500 for his paper, “Societal Outcomes of Social and Commercial Entrepreneurship: Alexiou's research deals primarily with entrepreneurship; The papers submitted by College of Business Administration Ph.D. students were judged by a panel comprised of the faculty members across the five departments. “The Annual Dean's Best Paper Award provides a formal avenue for our PhD students to display their innovative research as they progress in the program,” said Program Director Pratim Data, Ph.D. “It serves as a great acid-test for the students planning to present and publish their research in peer-reviewed conference proceedings and journals.
