LOS ANGELES - May 12, 2015 - PRLog -- The 15th annual California Coast Classic Bicycle Tour (http://www.californiacoastclassic.org/) presented by Amgen, is positioned to sell out with registration numbers breaking historic records. The California Coast Classic Bicycle Tour (CCCBT) is an eight-day, fully supported ride along the scenic Highway One to raise funds for the Arthritis Foundation (http://www.arthritis.org/). The ride begins in San Francisco on September 26 and ends in Los Angeles on October 3.

More than 350 riders and volunteers will participate in the 525-mile ride with the goal of raising $1.1 million to support the Arthritis Foundation’s vital research, advocacy and programs for those with arthritis. The Arthritis Foundation is the nation’s largest private funder of research, public health programs and advocacy on behalf of the 53 million American’s affected by this painful disease.

“We are thrilled that the ride is going to sell out and that we are on track to have a record breaking fundraising year to support those living with arthritis,” said Amy Robertson, VP of Development for the CCCBT. “This incredible tour means so much to those we serve and to those that ride with us. The CCCBT also has the distinction of being the number one fundraising event in the country for the Arthritis Foundation.”

The 2015 CCCBT welcomes the tour’s dedicated veterans, as well as the new riders that are coming from all areas of the country and from overseas. For the 15th annual ride, not only will riders experience the breathtaking beauty cycling the coast, but also activities at camp each night such as beer and wine tastings, ride contests, bike demos and raffles.

The CCCBT and related activities not only raise funds for the Arthritis Foundation’s mission, but also raise awareness of the widespread and serious impact of arthritis and related diseases. Almost 53 million people, including 300,000 children, live with the pain of arthritis on a daily basis. Juvenile Arthritis is one of the most common childhood diseases in the United States. Additionally, arthritis is the most common cause of disability in the country and costs the U.S. economy $128 billion annually.

For more information about arthritis and to learn more about participating in the CCCBT as a cyclist, volunteer or sponsor, visit www.CaliforniaCoastClassic.org. There are only 10 spots left for this year’s event, so register today! Your support will help fund arthritis research for a cure, advocacy and programs to improve the lives of those with arthritis.
