QDiscovery General Counsel to Lead Discussion on ECA and EDA for Women in eDiscovery

By: QDiscovery

May 12, 2015 - PRLog -- New London, Conn. – QDiscovery LLC, a premier provider of electronic discovery and forensic technology services, today announced that its general counsel Helen Geib will present for two chapters of Women in eDiscovery – Chicago (May 21) and St. Louis (May 28).

Titled ““Rediscovering the Value  of Early Case Assessment (ECA) and Early Data Assessment (EDA),” Geib’s luncheon presentation will explore strategies for learning about a case and the client’s ESI at the outset of a matter and how to leverage that knowledge to make informed decisions that improve defensibility and cut costs.

Women in e-Discovery (WiE) provides educational opportunities regarding technology in the legal industry. The organization, which offers networking and promotes the personal and professional growth of women, has more than 5,000 members in 30 chapters nationwide.

Early case assessment (ECA) and early data assessment (EDA) often mean different things to different people. Because the definitions have become muddy, the concepts have been devalued. However, when defined and used properly, they empower greater control over the eDiscovery process. During the presentations for Women in eDiscovery, Geib will outline:

·         The competing definitions of ECA and EDA and how the two terms relate to each other

·         How both concepts are valuable to illuminate a case early on and develop a litigation strategy that addresses budgeting and other cost issues

·         Practical perspectives on how to conduct an early case assessment and an early data assessment

The Chicago presentation is eligible for one hour of CLE credit. CLE credit for the St. Louis presentation is pending.
