Santa Monica Plastic Surgeon Launches Nonprofit to Help Those Who Cannot Afford Corrective Procedure

SANTA MONICA, Calif. - May 11, 2015 - PRLog -- In appearance-conscious LA, patients crowd the offices of plastic surgeons seeking to improve their appearance in any number of ways.  But for some, such procedures are cost prohibitive, so one Santa Monica doctor is doing something about it.

         Board-certified plastic surgeon Michael Zarrabi, M.D. is launching “Chapter 2,” a nonprofit designed to help those in need of cosmetic or reconstructive surgery obtain those services at no cost.  Those interested in applying are encouraged to write no more than 500 words about why they should be considered and email it to chapter2@groffhinman.com.

         “Southern California boasts some of the most beautiful people in the world, many of whom have been enhanced, in part, thanks to the talents of plastic surgeons,” said Zarrabi.  “I’m starting Chapter 2 to balance the work I perform on those who have the resources with those who are at an economic disadvantage.  In effect, by treating the ‘haves’ I can help the ‘have not’s.’”

         Zarrabi is seeking to help those who are in particular need so that they can start their lives anew including domestic abuse and accident victims, breast cancer patients whose insurance does not offer reconstructive surgery and children who are victims of bullying due to significant physical abnormalities.

         “I gain tremendous satisfaction witnessing the physical and emotional transformations that take place among my patients,” he said.  “I have no doubt that my work with Chapter 2 will be even more gratifying.”
