May 12, 2015 - PRLog -- Nottingham, 12 May 2015 – Onomi, a leading independent database specialist, today announced that it has released a new range of strategic consulting services, “rethink” to address a growing market demand for new database technologies. The services are aimed at giving clients independent and expert advice around their database environments and advising them on a refreshed approach. Rethink includes a range of services covering areas such as Cloud migration, No SQL re-platforming, licence optimisation and assurance audits.

Julian Boneham, Co-Founder at Onomi said “We have seen a huge demand from clients wanting independent advice around how to create a database strategy that meets new business demands for greater agility and lower costs. Onomi Rethink is a tried and tested approach based on our experience and answers common questions such as how to take advantage of the Cloud and how to support complex requirements across relational and unstructured data”.

The Onomi rethink service addresses key customer challenges caused by database sprawl, rising costs, big data and changing business needs. This new service helps clients identify a clear strategy for moving forwards by providing the foundation to take advantage of technologies such as NoSQL and Cloud Computing.

James Peck, Partner Manager at Arrow ECS commented “There are real opportunities for Oracle customers to take advantage of features such as multi-tenancy, cloud, in-memory and NoSQL capability. The Onomi Rethink service is a great initiative to provide Oracle users with independent, expert advice”.

With many organisation having made a database technology decision over 5 years ago they are now having to manage environment that is high in complexity, has growing maintenance costs and may no longer be fit for purpose. Optimising the current environment and planning a new strategy is an important exercise to undertake at least every 18 months.

Adam Blackshaw, Director, EMEA Business Development at Couchbase said “We think that in the second half of 2015 we're going to see a significantly increasing number of enterprises start a broad re-platforming exercise to move away from legacy databases to NoSQL. Onomi are well positioned to help organisations think about how and when they are going to do that. “
