American Craft Beer Week & National Celiac Awareness Month converge for Brewery Start Up

JERSEY CITY, N.J. - May 10, 2015 - PRLog -- In what may otherwise seem like a confluence events that can only be dreamed up, the month of May provides fortuitous timing for one New Jersey entrepreneur chasing his dreams. Departed Soles Brewing Company, located in Jersey City, is on track to become the first brewery in the Tri-State Area crafting artisanal ales of both the traditional and gluten-free varieties. The timing for its launch could not be better, as this Monday marks the beginning of American Craft Beer Week, serendipitously coinciding with National Celiac Awareness Month.

Located in the budding Powerhouse Arts District of Downtown Jersey City, Departed Soles Brewing Company is focused on making Craft Beer that is not only certifiably Gluten Free, but that will compete with tradition ales in terms of taste. The brewery has already received awards and recognition for its recipes on the home brew competition circuit. Currently, the market for gluten free beer is thin, while an estimated 1 out of 133 Americans suffer from Celiac’s Disease, and many others have gluten sensitivities.

Jersey City’s first brewery will be offering those who visit a unique blend of craft offerings in its Tasting Room, which will be open to the public five days a week. Brian Kulbacki, Owner and Brewer - or “Entrepre-Brewer” – behind the project, notes that this wasn’t originally the plan. “Departed Soles was initially a brew pub concept that my best friend and I dreamt up. Not only did he have restaurant experience, but he also suffered from Celiac Disease, which is why I started brewing these recipes. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2010 commuting between jobs. Everything I do with this brewery, I can only hope makes him proud.”

Departed Soles is not only taking shape to open in early June, but is also in the midst of an ambitious Crowd Funding Campaign. “I never imagined having to do something like this, and I believe we nailed our budget, but some bumps in the road were just too big to handle on our own,” says Kulbacki. Thus far, the brewery has raised $9,000 of its $17,500 goal, which will go towards purchasing high quality, American Made equipment to ensure that the craft beer gets to consumers in the best, most consistent manner possible.
