Briar Cottages owners, Fraser and Kim Proven, moved to the banks of Loch Earn seven years ago. They live in Briar Cottage the old B Listed thatched cottage on the grounds; once known as Easter Achraw. Early maps reveal farmland and cottars houses belonging to the Earl of Atholl in the 17th century before they were sold to The Earl of Breadalbane. Lochearnhead Village was not formed until after 1770. Fraser and Kim invite holiday cottage guests to see inside their restored thatched cottage to view the original cruck framed Scots pine ceiling and hear stories of past tenants and folklore.
The Provens built luxury Briar Steading cottage in 2010. The spacious detached stone cottage offers romantic views south over Loch Earn, Glenample and Edinample Castle ( once home to the Campbells of Breadalbane)
