Florida’s First Team to National Championships Gives Away New Car

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. - May 7, 2015 - PRLog -- The Tampa Mustangs ’02, an all-girls fastpitch softball team in the Tampa Bay Area, earned Florida’s first 12u ASA berth to the National Championships in Sacramento, CA.  The team is comprised of talented young female athletes ages 12-13 residing in Tarpon Springs and the surrounding areas.

The Mustangs played five games to earn the title, standing undefeated in all games to take the championship and to be named the first Florida team to qualify for the ASA Nationals to be held in Sacramento, California this July.  To help pay for their trip to the Nationals the girls partnered with Sun Toyota of New Port Richey to raffle a new 2015 Toyota Corolla.   Tickets were sold to raffle off the car at $50 each. The girls spent months selling the tickets, with nearly 700 sold on the date of the drawing.  The winner was selected at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Sun Toyota 3001 US Hwy 19N and Rochelle Lester from St. Petersburg was selected.  The team raised $14,000 with the event.
