By: e-End The event, held on April 18th at e-End’s headquarters, provided the community with a convenient way to dispose of their old computers, electronic devices, monitors, televisions, VCRs, office equipment and more while keeping toxic chemicals such as lead, mercury and cadmium from contaminating the environment. “Once again the community has shown that they are willing to take small steps for going green.” said Arleen Chafitz, CEO of e-End. “By providing an easily-accessible outlet for recycling of old electronics, several thousand pounds of unused devices will now be recycled properly.” Being an R2:2013-Certified recycler, e-End follows strict procedures during the entire recycling process, including chain of custody of materials, environmental and public health, worker health and safety, and facility and data security. “The most important thing we want our customers to know is that we have a Zero Landfill Policy for every piece of equipment we handle.” said Chafitz. “Whether it’s refurbishing items for resale or donation, or demanufacturing items for recycling of various components, nothing that comes through our door will pose a risk to our environment’ In addition to free recycling, e-End also provided guaranteed destruction of all data on the computers, mobile devices and other data-containing items that were dropped off. “Our data security certifications require us to ensure the data is 100% non-recoverable, which means people can be certain that none of their personal or confidential information will fall into the wrong hands.” added Chafitz.
