Mile Hi Summer One Act Play Festival Announces Open Submission for Original Scripts

DENVER - May 3, 2015 - PRLog -- Act 1 Productions, Skid Row Productions & Theatrix USA announce the Mile Hi Summer One Act Play Festival at the West End Theatre and Art Center in the 40 West Arts District. MileHi-SOAF is a theatrical competition featuring original one-act plays. A trio of finalists will be selected from the submissions. These short plays will be presented to general audiences as well as the MileHi-SOAF jury on July 10, 11 and 12, 2015, at the West End Theatre.

The grand prize award (the Golden Columbine – named after the Colorado state flower) will be presented following the Sunday matinee performances of the one-act plays at a wine and dessert reception. The other finalists will be awarded the Silver Columbine and the Bronze Columbine. The grand prize award will include an honorarium of $500. The other two finalists will also receive an honorarium.

Scripts must be original works, one act in length. Ideally, the estimated run time should be approximately one-half hour, although a one-act script of any length will be considered. The submission period runs from Wednesday May 6, 2015, through Wednesday June 3, 2015. A registration fee of $25 is required for each script submitted. A maximum of five scripts per participant is permitted. One-act plays of all types are welcome, including drama, comedy and experimental concept.
