FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - May 2, 2015 - PRLog -- US-based kimono fashion designer / stylist, Hiromi Asai, and flower arrangement expert, Mieko Kubota, present a special kimono fashion show entitled "Wheel of Life", focusing on kimonos for the Japanese children’s festival as well as kimonos for all ages. This fashion show is held at Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale, FL on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at 2 pm. Admission of the museum is $14 for adults and $12 for children (2-12).

Kimono is a Japanese sophisticated garment with a long history, over one thousand years. On this kimono show, Hiromi Asai produces 17 various kimono ensembles of all ages ranging in age from 3 to 78. First, Hiromi Asai focuses on outfits inspired by the Japanese children’s festival “Shichi-Go-San” (Seven-Five-Three). “Shichi-Go-San” is a traditional rite of passage and festival for three- and seven-year-old girls and three- and five-year-old boys to cerebrates the growth and well-being of young children. Traditionally, children, who were required to shave heads until three, were allowed to grow out their hair at three. Five-year-old boys could wear Hakama to become Samurai style, while seven-year-old girls could replace the simple cords that they used to tie their kimono with the traditional obi sash to become lady style. “Shich-Go-San” represents these traditional ceremonies. Then, Hiromi Asai demonstrates the outfit for a bride, which inherits the tradition of Samurai family with a dagger. Further, Hiromi Asai reproduces the outfit of the “Miyamairi” ceremony, a traditional rite of passage for newborns, on which newborns are wrapped with attires that were presented by grand-mothers. According to the kimono ensembles of all ages in this order, which leave the impression of circulation of life, this show is titled “Wheel of Life”. Mieko Kubota decorates the stage with beautiful flowers and grace the outfits in tribute to Mother’s day.

Hiromi Asai, an owner of Kimono Hiro in FL & NY, works as a wardrobe stylist for fashion magazines, including Vogue, i-D Magazine, and Exhibition Magazine, the anniversary event of Shiseido America, and ads of Verizon Wireless.
