Avesta Holiday Season 2015 - Resident Appreciation
Bert de Alejo, Senior Director at Avesta, notes, “Our residents are the foundation of Avesta. It is important that we show appreciation for them at all times and special appreciation for them during the holidays.”
For the fourth consecutive year Avesta held a Turkey Giveaway for Thanksgiving, this year giving away over 100 turkeys to families across its portfolio. Turkeys were given to families throughout its Tampa, St. Petersburg, Jacksonville, Orlando, South Florida, Austin, and San Antonio communities. Julia Furber, Community Manager at Avesta Midtown Oaks in Jacksonville, FL, adds, “The act itself is really simple. However, the impact it has on our residents is profound. Plus, it is fun for both our residents and our teammates to spread holiday joy together!”
Avesta’s Resident Appreciation Week was the week of December 14. Avesta held several community holiday parties and raffle giveaways. Throughout December, Avesta also gets residents in the holiday spirit by hosting a Door Decorating Contest at each community. Company-wide, during both events, Avesta gave away over $11,500 in prizes to its residents.
“These events are an example of our vision in action, to be the world’s most resident focused company. The door decorating contest is actually my favorite. I love seeing how creative our residents can be with their door decorating skills.” states Sandy Crowe, Operations Manager for Orlando and South Florida.
