Kimberly Janson to Guest on Mariposa Leadership’s Popular Wise Talk Leadership Forum

In an interview with Sue Bethanis, CEO/Founder of Mariposa Leadership, Kimberly will share how strong talent management practices can enable companies to deliver on business strategy, the common roadblocks that prevent companies from managing their talent successfully, and discuss ways that managers, leaders and human resource professionals can work together to resolve this.

From hiring practices through performance management and succession planning, many components of talent management practices are not fully understood by organizational stakeholders. Many fail to see the value in specific talent activities and more importantly, how they all fit together to create a well-oiled machine that delivers on business strategy. Kimberly Janson, a 20-year seasoned talent management and development professional, has successfully applied her unique skills in a number of Fortune 500 companies. Her experience, her strong
skill set and her huge drive for results has made her a sought-after expert across the globe.

Prior to establishing Janson Associates, Kim was the Chief Talent Management Officer at  the H. J Heinz  Company. While there, she was responsible for leadership development, organizational effectiveness, learning, diversity, change management, performance management, succession and executive coaching.  Kim joined Heinz in June 2008 and was charged with building and executing high-impact developmental solutions designed to build a strong pipeline of leaders across the globe. Through her five years at Heinz, the company was recognized as the industry leader for top talent with more than 30 quarters of consecutive growth.

Kim came to Heinz from Bank of America where she served as the Senior Vice President of Leadership Development for the Global Wealth Business. She is best known for her work there as an executive coach, coaching the presidents and CEOs running the Private Bank, Columbia Management (proprietary asset management company), the Alternative Investments business, the Global Wealth Products business and the Retirement business. She was recruited to join the Bank of America after spending ten years at Hasbro, Inc. as the Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness, Leadership Development, Learning and Diversity.  Kim began her corporate career at Bank of Boston after teaching High School in Rhode Island. Kim was recruited to BancBoston Mortgage Corporation to help drive the complete re-engineering of the mortgage process and how business was done. This required a complete overhaul of the talent strategy and all of the programs and tools being used for development.

Graduating from the University of Rhode Island with Bachelor degrees in English, History and Education, she obtained her first Masters degree from Rhode Island College, a Masters of Arts in Teaching. Her second Masters, a Masters of Science in Organizational Development, was obtained from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
